- Grant / Renewal of licenses for Bus Stands of A, B, C and D categories and their regulation.
- Grant/ Renewal of Licenses for Establishment of Body Building Workshops. Grant/Renewal of Licenses for Goods Forwarding Agencies.
- Grant/Renewal of Route Permits.
- Regulate and enforce public transport fares.
- Act as Tribunal for compensation of death / injury cases in road accidents.
- The Secretary, RTA exercises executive authority of RTA, arrange meetings and implements decisions of RTA.
